Carolina Chocolate Drops
Good to see young African-Americans reclaiming the string band tradition. The banjo, after all, was developed by slaves in Colonial America, adapted from African instruments.

Could not agree more mate – first off though they are great musicians!! As a banjo picker myself I did know of the origins of the instrument, but a lot of people don’t. If I could play clawhammer as well as she does…..

I wanted to catch them on this UK tour but couldn’t face the 20 smackers being asked – not that I think they’re not worth it but suppose it was knowing I could have seen them here last year for half the price. Nuts!
